Statistical approximation properties of modified q-Stancu-Beta operators

In this paper we define the modified q-Stancu-Beta operators and study the weighted statistical approximation by these operators with the help of the Korovkin type approximation theorem. We also establish the rates of statistical convergence by means of the modulus of continuity and the Lipschitz type maximal function. Our results show that rates of convergence of our operators are at least as ...

Hecke Operators on the q-Analogue of Group Cohomology

We construct the q-analogue of a certain class of group cohomology and introduce the action of Hecke operators on such cohomology. We also show that such an action determines a representation of a Hecke ring in each of the associated group cohomology spaces. MSC 2000: 20G10, 11F60 (primary); 11F75, 18G99 (secondary)

On q-analogue of Bernstein-Schurer-Stancu operators

Keywords: q-Bernstein–Schurer–Stancu operators q-integers Modulus of smoothness Rate of convergence a b s t r a c t In the present paper, we introduce the Stancu type generalization of the Bernstein–Schurer operators based on q integers. First, we prove the basic convergence of S ða;bÞ n;p ð:; q; xÞ and then obtain the rate of convergence by these operators in terms of the modulus of continuity...

Lp-INVERSE THEOREM FOR MODIFIED BETA OPERATORS

and B(v+1,n) being the beta function (see, e.g., [3]). It is easily verified that the operators Bn are linear positive operators. Also, Bn(1,x) = 1. It turns out that the order of approximation for the operators (1.1) is at best O(n−1) howsoever smooth the function may be. With the aim of improving the order of approximation, we have to slack the positive condition of these operators for which ...

A Mathematica q - Analogue

Mathematica implementations, available by email request, of q-analogues of Gosper's and Zeilberger's algorithm are described. Nontrivial examples are given in order to illustrate the usage of these packages. The algorithms are based on a new approach to q-hypergeometric telescoping in which a new algebraic concept, q-greatest factorial factorization (qGFF), plays a fundamental role.
